Title: Team Leader Forensic Analyst (C/M) Grade D1
The Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA), an organization entrusted with the assessment, collection, and accounting for tax revenues for the Malawi Government is inviting applications from versatile and suitably qualified candidates to fill the above vacant position in ICT Division.
Overall Objective
To Identify, analyze, prevent similar attacks, and recover key information for further investigation as requested from time to time.
Main Responsibilities
Collecting electronically stored information in a way that maintains its integrity
Isolating the device under investigation to ensure it cannot be accidentally contaminated or tampered with
Maintaining chain of Custody for the collected Electronic gadgets
Making digital copies (forensic images) of the device's storage media, and lock the original device in a safe or another secure facility to maintain its pristine condition
Documenting of the extraction and analysis process
Analysing digital copies of storage media in a sterile environment to gather the information for a case
Performing basic forensic investigations and eDiscovery requests using forensic methodology and tools
Identifying vulnerabilities in the security systems
Retrieving encrypted or deleted sensitive data and information
Recovering damaged systems to extract data and information
Presenting the findings in a legal proceeding
Presenting what has been recovered from a compromised system or network
Assembling files with the evidence and take care of the integrity of the information
Assisting the CIRT (Cyber Incident Response Team) with incidents for forensic investigations
Attending audit in case of incidents or fraud
Qualifications and Competencies
Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or any ICT related fields.
Possession of professional certifications in ICT and membership in professional associations is highly desirable
At least two (2) years’ experience in ICT security
