Title: Systems Administration Officer Grade D3
The Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA), an organization entrusted with the assessment, collection, and accounting for tax revenues for the Malawi Government is inviting applications from versatile and suitably qualified candidates to fill the above vacant position in the ICT Division.
Overall Objective
Assisting in management of critical enterprise systems in the areas of Server Hardware and Operating systems, Database, Storage and Virtualization technologies.
Main Responsibilities
Backingup all Systems and Data
Monitoring online backups and report on System Backup status
Inspecting all backups kept offsite
Creating and maintaining user profiles and their associated rights
Ensuring stable operation of Active Directory, Email, DHCP and DNS services on MRA Network
Ensuring stable operation of all business-critical applications servers and services.
Configuring or add new services as necessary
Monitorong activities carried by users in the system
Monitoring System Availability
Monitoring daily system resource usage (CPU, Memory, Disk space)
Reviewing system and application logs and verify completion of scheduled jobs
Recording and attend to error and critical events log items
Monitoring Datacentre operating environment
Maintaining schedules for routine system maintenance and processes.
Monitoring and troubleshooting systems performance
Troubleshooting and offering system related solutions to user’s problems.
Resolving and close all systems related issues as per SLA
Managing system failure and crashes
Reporting System performance
Qualifications and Experience
A mimnmum of Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or any ICT related fields
At least two (2) years’ experience is ICT
