Title: Projects Manager Grade C3
The Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA), an organization entrusted with the assessment, collection, and accounting for tax revenues for the Malawi Government is inviting applications from versatile and suitably qualified candidates to fill the above vacant position in Administration Division.
Overall Objective
To lead in planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and closing out projects and ensure accountable for the entire project scope, the project team and resources, the project budget, and the success or failure of the projects.
Main Responsibilities
Planning for future development in line with strategic business objectives.
Initiating development projects and proposals in line with the company’s strategic estate management plan.
Maintaining all properties (buildings and grounds) to a high standard whilst carrying out basic building and maintenance works where required.
Investigating and initiating proposals for refurbishments.
Maintaining a hands-on control of projects at hand.
Reviewing the building status/grade annually and maintain the standards within those grades
Ensuring compliance with legal regulations. Complete regular health & safety inspections and update monthly reports as appropriate.
Motivating refurbishments, major repairs as appropriate.
Formulating budgets of all works and annual expenses to each property and update head of administration on a regular basis. Regarding all sites.
Developing and maintaining productive business relations with vendors, suppliers, contractors, etc.
Supervising and coordinating works of contractors: checking that agreed work by staff or contractors has been completed satisfactorily and following on any deficiencies.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelors` Degree in Quantity Surveying and or Construction Project Management
5 years practical experience in a similar position.
Attributes and Competencies
Ability to plan, execute, and deliver projects on time, within scope and quality standards.
Skilled in preparing and managing project budgets effectively.
Ability to manage and implement change while ensuring stakeholder buy-in.
Competent in assessing and allocating resources efficiently.
Strong ability to lead teams and drive performance
Successful candidates before being appointed will undergo an extensive background check of their integrity. Only when the vetting exercise is favourable shall the Authority make the appointment.
