The Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA), an organization entrusted with the assessment, collection, and accounting for tax revenues for the Malawi Government is inviting applications from versatile and suitably qualified candidates to fill the above vacant position in Administration Division.

Overall Objective

Responsible for driving officers and other clients around in an efficient, safe and timely manner and ensuring care, maintenance and security of assigned vehicle.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Maintaining a logbook of driving activities to ensure compliance with work periods
  • Carrying out daily and weekly checks and reporting vehicle defects.
  • Reporting defects, accidents and violations promptly to the Head Driver
  • Checking vehicle documents regularly to ensure that they are valid at all times
  • Inspecting vehicles for mechanical items and safety
  • Ensuring that all vehicle tools including the spare tyres are kept safe
  • Complying with driving rules and regulations as well as  MRA policies and procedures
  • Keeping vehicles clean and tidy at all times both inside and outside
  • Undertaking duly authorized trips by the Transport Officer

 

Qualifications and Experience

 

Candidates must possess a minimum of Malawi School Certificate of Education (M.S.C.E)

Candidates must possess a clean and valid SADC driving license

Those with defensive driving certificate or mechanical knowledge will have an added advantage 

A minimum of five years’ experience driving with excellent skills and clean record as a professional driver

Successful candidates before being appointed will undergo an extensive background check of their integrity. Only when the vetting exercise is favourable shall the Authority make the appointment.
