The Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA), an organization entrusted with the assessment, collection, and accounting for tax revenues for the Malawi Government is inviting applications from versatile and suitably qualified candidates to fill the above vacant position in the ICT.

Overall Objective

Managing databases of system and ensure the databases are available for application system

Main Responsibilities

Backing up all databases 
Inspecting all backups kept off site
Creating and maintains user profiles in databases
Reviewing and Manage Database Audit logs
Performing all security checks on the databases

Responsible for managing Database Operations

Assisting in database design, creation of new databases, management of existing ones and maintenance of database documentation.
Proactive Monitoring Database Availability and Database Server Resources
Maintaining database system scheduled task

Proactive Monitoring of database performance and query throughput
Assisting in installing, updating and upgrading database software and database performance optimization.
Monitoring and Managing Backups using RMAN, SSMS and Acronis Backup Solution.

Responsible for supporting user daily operations

Resolving and close all database issues as per SLA
Creating /Maintaining Application user Accounts in Asycuda World, SAP and Msonkho Online as per SLA
Maintaining database performance 
Managing corrupt data and Database Recovery

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or any ICT related fields
Professional certification in database e.g. Oracle Certified Associate (OCA) is an added advantage
At least two (2) years’ experience working with database management systems
